Jessica Simpson's Blonde Ambition Movie Was A Hitmaker In Ukraine

Jessica Simpson has finally struck another film ... In Ukraine.

Jessica Simpson last movie, "Blonde Ambition" hit No. 1 in Eastern Europe nation, grossing $ 253,008 for the weekend of February 14-17, Box Office Mojo reports.

The film flopped in the United States in December, showing in just eight theaters Texas and making only $ 1,771 in its opening weekend.

"The former Soviet nations have a sweet tooth for straight-up comedy," Conor Bresnan, editor of Box Office Mojo International, told People magazine.

"When these comedies have great names of celebrities like
Jessica Simpson, is all it takes to sell the film. Russian and Ukrainian public have a greater desire to escape than the Americans. So such films as "Blonde Ambition" gross more on the willingness of No Country For Old Men. "
